Mount Fuji x2

Last weekend, I went to Mt.Fuji, and climbed from the 5th Station to the summit. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't all that great, not as bad as last year, but still, I wasn't able to take any decent shots. Last year, everything was closed when I went, but this year, I was able to celebrate reaching the top with a nice bowl of miso ramen (noodles). We descended using the Subashiri Trail which was mostly sand... wheeeee!

This weekend, I went to Fuji again, and it must have been third time lucky because I didn't get any rain or strong wind. We had a nice sunny day with blue sky! We started hiking from Umagaeshi which is just below the 1st Station at an altitude of 1400m - not a route that many people take, and it was news to me that we were taking this route! - stopped overnight at the 7th Station, before leaving the hut at 3:30AM to continue on the journey to the summit. I managed to take some shots of the sunrise! At the top, we treated ourselves to hot drinks - I wouldn't usually buy a 400yen can of cocoa, but this was a special occasion - then circled Mt.Fuji's crater before heading down to the 5th Station to catch our buses.
