Hey, where's the meat?
There's no meat, the burger's made from soya beans, and when I took my first ever bite of these, it was an 'Oh My God' moment, had beans always tasted this good?
At the beginning of June, when I had a health check, my RHR (resting heart rate) was about 63 bpm. Since then, I'd been hiking every weekend, and worked out 6 days a week in preparation for Mt. Fuji which really paid off. My performance was definitely faster, but the last couple of hundred metres is always tough. My recovery time has also improved. After Fuji Trip 1 last year, every step was painful, but this summer after Trip 2, there was no soreness only a little tiredness, and crazily enough, even though it was longer and a week after Trip 2, I suffered no ill effects after Trip 3???
Measured my RHR this morning, and it was 53 bpm...
...It was likely that hiking at high altitudes for four days at Fuji had played a big part in it, so it'll probably go back up again soon. Although, [careful] training in heat also helps to improve fitness condition and strengthen the heart muscle... but I lack the motivation to do anything in hot weather!
Seeing results is so motivating. It takes time and effort (and pain), but it's all worth it :)
