Summer Holiday - Day 3

Day 3

Destination:
Yau Ma Tei (actually Tsim Sha Tsui to Mong Kok)

Do, Did, Done:
Stopped by Tsim Sha Tsui first to pop into the Tourism Board, then walked from Tsim Sha Tsui to Mong Kok. The distance is roughly about 3km, not including the side stops I made along the way.

Sight-saw Tin Hau Temple, which is a little different from the other temples I've looked at, because it has an open-top roof to allow the smoke from the burning incense sticks to escape. Tin Hau is the Taoist goddess of the sea, "but why the heck is there a sea temple in the middle of a city?" I hear some people ask, it's because a long time ago, the temple was on the harbour front, before the recession of the water.

Next, Tung Wah Museum which contains the history of Kwong Wah Hospital, about how the hospital and Hong Kong's Health Service came into being... very interesting. Hey, something else that caught my attention... stone tables with built in chess boards.
