Reassuring myself that I'd made the right decision

After much pestering and worry from Mother and Uncle, I've taken unpaid leave will be going to Hong Kong this Thursday.

To be honest, I didn't want to, I have responsibilities in Japan and I just picked up and left... not a very good impression. Also, thinking about it, I could have just stayed in Japan and visited the West side of the country where there were hardly any tremours. I was prepared you know, I'd boxes of food, water, medical and essential supplies and an emergency pack just in case I had to leave the apartment, collected other people's numbers, checked the news constantly, bought masks and iodine tablets... and now it's been a waste of effort. It's a good thing I didn't splash out on a torch (I bought a bike light instead) and water-purifying tablets (I'd gone to a dozen different places to get bottled water).

Anyway, its too late, and I'm going to HK with only a British Passport and a British bank card and no access to my bank accounts in HK as I'd left everything HK-related in England.

Anyway, can't wait to be back in Japan, and get my life back in check. I'll be back in time for the new academic year, but will have missed out on Grade 3's graduation ceremony and their last day. I was so fired up for some back-slapping (T-T) and hand-wringing (ToT).

Hi Steph! Glad to hear you're ok. Hope things go well in HK and that you enjoy your time there - you might as well. Make the most of it. :-) Take care. Much love (and I'm sorry I've been so rubbish at keeping in touch). Liz xxxx
