The Last of the English DJ (this year)

Today marked the end of my English broadcast until next month. The academic year here in Japan starts in April and ends in March, whereas in England, the school year starts in September and ends in July. This also meant that it was the last time the 3rd years listened to my DJ-ing, as they will being graduating at the end of this month. The time slot is only 20 minutes, but hopefully I filled it up with enough congratulations, encouragement and farewells for them to get the gist. Unfortunately, my city has some of the lowest achieving schools in Tokyo, so English is unlikely to top the scoreboards anytime soon... but anyway, I hope they understood. It's always sad when students leave.

Care to guess what four songs I played (a time slot only really allows 4 songs)?
1.  If Today was your Last Day by Nickelback
2.  Just Stand Up by Various Artists (inc. Beyonce, Fergie, and Mariah Carey etc.)
3.  Over the Rainbow by Eva Cassidy (This version is addictive.)
4.  We are the Champions by Queen

Anyway, some good news, after starting igo six months ago, I finally beat the sole member of the Igo Club on a 9x9 board! Hurray!....well, I did lead him on into an unrelated conversation mid-game, so maybe I won because he wasn't concentrating.
