...didn't go as I'd hoped, but the interviewers were nice. The 20-minute interview was over in a blink. I'm sure it was obvious that I was nervous. With over a thousand applicants, I'm unlikely to be successful :( Hopefully, I'll be proved wrong when the results come out in April.
Yes, they did pick up on the fact that Japanese people maybe stereotypical of the fact that 'I don't look English'. They were nice enough to hand me an opportunity to talk about whatever I wanted, but I didn't rise to it :(
Security was tight, any recording items were lockered up and we weren't allowed to look, let alone talk to other applicants. Sorry Karekora, I had to pretend that you were a complete stranger :( Some of the words on the grammar test buggered me, even the TESOL course was easier than this!

Cheer up. Let this become an experience. You will perform better next time :)
It was a tough day... I spoke to the guy who had an interview the same time as me afterwards and he agreed that the words on the test were quite hard. I doubt we would ever have to teach words like on the test at Junior High School level either...
ah well, we did our best on the day, even if I will be forever picking out all the bad bits until April... :(
And as Yulin says - its all good experience that will aid us in the future.
Fingers crossed ;)
Yulin, thanks for the encouragement. Just feeling a bit down that failing the interview would mean forever being unable to apply to this programme again. Anyways, as you said, at least I gained something from it ;)
Karekora - yeah,it was tough. I just don't think those choice of words were realistic to be honest. They aren't often used in conversational English, and if I was planning on teaching them, I would have studied up a bit, checked the dict. beforehand.
Anyways, I just have to keep my fingers and toes double-knotted til Easter ;)
