The eye of Typhoon Nuri had passed through Hong Kong yesterday, prompting the Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) to issue a No.9 Tropical Cyclone Warning (T9). T9 is enforced when gale or storm force wind is increasing or expected to increase significantly in strength (from 63-117km/h).
The HKO had advised people from going near coastal area, but loads of tourists and Hong Kongers with children were 'experiencing' the gales at the pier of Tsim Sha Tsui. Well, people are entitled to do whatever rocks their boat, surfing is fun too... until you get caught by the waves and get washed out to sea. The guy disappeared from his wife and surfer friends, and his body has yet to be found. Without a doubt, different people have their own thrills.
