I Have Come To A Decision...

Hey everyone!

Thank you so much to those who managed to think up some suggestions for me! ...and taking your suggestions to mind, I have finally reached a decision, hurray! [drumrolls] This is what I have decided...

... so with much consideration, contemplation, head-banging and grass-chewing, I have decided to stay on with Creative Kindergartens! I won't be studying towards a Kindergarten Teacher Qualification, but will be studying a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) with focus on Early Childhood Education, so after I have obtained this quali (fingers-crossed) I will be able to work in any level of school education (private and government schools) e.g. from kindergarten to high school. Also, with this change from private to being a government school, Creative will be offering grants to teachers with some conditions... i.e. working with them for a further same number of years that you have studied. So I have decided to accept their grant for the PGDE which is part-time for 2 years, and then work a further 2 years with them while studying the Food Masters.

However, there are some side-issues... the deadline for enrolling to do a PGDE was January 2007, but the school will be applying for me in my name, so hopefully with them pulling some strings, I will get a place...?! Another thing, even though I have a Hong Kong visa which allows me to live and work in HK as long as I like, I don't have full citizenship. So does that make me a local or a non-local student? As you probably know, students from abroad pay a lot more in terms of tuition fees, over here a non-local pays double the amount of a locals. Anyway, I'm just hoping that I get accepted as a local student, I'm not sure if the grant will fully cover $70,000 (roughly £4,700.00) non-local fee. Yeah, education is bloomin' expensive over here.

Wooh, do I feel lighter! Anyway, putting this issue aside, something a bit more carefree in my next post... (and yes, I'll stop repeating my emails now)
