There was the intention of spending a few hours exploring the parts of the palace gardens that have been temporarily opened to the public, and doing some tandem cycling afterwards. But with the vast crowds and the incoming rain, we got through the grounds as quickly as we could, and went straight to the picnic.
We had to change our picnic location twice before we could finish our meal.
Location 1: A nice spot on the outer grounds. We were asked to not picnic on the grass.
Location 2: A bench in a park. It began to rain.
Location 3: The front porch of an office block. We finally finished our meal. There's nothing quite like some concrete to shelter us from the rain, although it didn't quite manage to shelter us from people's stares.
After our healthy picnic, we headed to the Indian Embassy to check out a festival.
