I went for an easy weekend hike at Oze, a nature reserve area in Gunma prefecture that is famous for its marshes. Unfortunately, it was raining for most of it, but it was still quite pretty. Worth visiting during the spring to see the flowers in bloom, or during the autumn when the trees and other plants change their colour.
The twenty of us shared a room in the mountain hut in Oze with an onsen (hot spring). It was fun ;) and the meals were filling and tasty.

The good thing about downpours on a hike, is that waterfalls are guaranteed to never disappoint.

This summer, I don't have anything major planned like I usually do, but I'm really excited about it this year, because it's packed full of hikes and day trips! I usually use night buses to save on dosh, but this time, I thought I'd try using the Seishun 18 ticket, a set of five train tickets which provides unlimited travel on local trains for Y2300 per day ;)
