It's been a busy weekend, what with going to another Oxford Teaching Workshop (this time in Yokohama) and rushing to yoga afterwards yesterday, and spending today eating in the Yamanashi prefecture!
We went to a strawberry farm called Ichigoland where we could eat as much as we wanted within a 30 minute time limit for Y1500. It doesn't sound like much time, but it's plenty. After 15 minutes, even though I sooooo wanted to, I just couldn't eat anymore. You get a container of condensed milk to dip your strawberries in, and it was just sooooo yummy!
Afterwards, we had a look around at some hina doll displays, just to give our stomachs time to digest before heading to Okutou for lunch. We ordered houtou, a Yamanashi speciality which is made by cooking flat udon-like noodles with pumpkin and other vegetables in miso soup. It was an iron pot of absolute deliciousness.
I had a full, happy belly and didn't want to move, but the journey must continue. And so we headed to the final place on the itinerary, Chateau Katsunuma, a winery because Yamanashi is famous for grapes and wine. We tasted all the wines, and I came away with a bottle of sweet red as a souvenir.
It was a great weekend ;) Next week, I'll be doing a taster class in aerial yoga!
