With Tescos pulling out of the Japanese market, and marking down all of its grocery items, I went on a Tescos shopping spree!
I spent a tenner, and saved... £1.35, if I had bought the same items in the UK. I don't think shipping 3.5kg over to Japan would have been cheap either. I'm so happy, I got myself a deal!
I know, doesn't sound very exciting, but this English girl hasn't been back home for over two years. Normally, imports are so expensive, to satisfy any cravings for Western food, I'd go to an international grocery store or the international food section of Jusco and feast my eyes instead.
I know, it's kind of sad. If I have a craving, I should just go ahead and spend the damn money, but when I compare the price of a 180g jar of basil pesto (Y450 = £3.70) or a 200g box of Walkers shortbread (Y600 = approx. £5) with what I could do with that money on a holiday, the holiday wins hands down.
Next weekend, I'll be going to Okinawa for a week, and this winter, I'm hoping to go on a skiing trip, so I have to be a good girl and stay away from the pesto.
