The other day I visited the Edo Tokyo Museum which focuses on the history of Tokyo during the Edo period.
[Marketplace along the Tamagawa River.]
It's satsuma season, and I'm within a bicycle ride away from a satsuma (or mikan, as the Japanese call them) pick-your-own farm! 300yen to enter and eat as much as you like, and another 300yen for every kilogram you want to take home! The secret to mikan picking is, the smaller ones are usually sweeter, but obviously try one before gathering from any particular tree!
[Watch out for bugs!]
Turned Japanese for a couple of hours on Tuesday, and did overtime until 9pm to finish off my Christmas display in time for December, since I wasn't going to be at my junior high school today. Doing overtime one evening is enough to last me for a long time, no wonder most of the teachers have weak constitutions, I was completely knackered when I got home afterwards. I live right behind two schools, and most days, the lights in the staff rooms are still on at 10 in the evening. A mate who works there says that some teachers stay until one in the morning?!
[Yes, there's a space under Elmo, I plan to fill it up with Cookie Monster.]
