Afterwards, we walked around the shops and department stores, followed by dinner at a Korean restaurant.
Coming home from Tachikawa station. I got lost. It was dark. Thinking about it afterwards, I was happy that I got lost. Where usually the journey would take me 15 minutes during the day time, the journey last night took an hour and a half. I was cycling around the back roads trying to look for some indication where I was on the map, I asked people who either pointed me in a direction or told me they didn't know. In the end, I met an old couple who had just arrived home after their trip to Hokkaido. The old man walked me home, even though he wasn't exactly sure where my apartment was. Some high school boys on their mini motorbikes asked if we needed any help and tried to help with the map. So yeah, it was a nice experience even though I got lost, I'm hoping those teens bode well for my new work place...

Will you be teaching teenagers this time or is it still kindergarten children? It ain't do bad getting lost depending on the situation, at least you know the place slightly better. Did you put your Japanese into good use?
I'll be teaching elementary and junior high i.e. 6 to 15 years old.
Yeah, I thought exactly the same thing, somehow my brain managed to register where I was going that night cos I attempted the roads during the day with no problems??
Yep, I only really worked one phrase though which was: "Koko [gakkou] wa doko des ka?" Gakkou meaning school, cos it's a shortcut to my apartment.
