Local Strike

My first school placement was great, and my second placement didn't go so great... Just found out that my first school went on strike, I'm feeling lucky I didn't get caught up in the circumstances! Apparently, the Head is accused of overworking teachers and not providing enough support, I admit that I did witness something of this nature when I was there... Anyway, I'm glad it's all over!

Pity you did not see the effects of the strike. I recall in the mid seventy's when working at a Refinery in Cumbria, we had to get to work by 7 am and not leave again until 7 pm so as to avoid the pickets and getting the cars damaged. Gives you a chance to see how the other half live and perhaps understand Cause & Effect in Industry. Not everyone has our Principals and Morals (on both sides). Knowledge is essential to Suvival?????????????

I was planning to volunteer at the school that day, but I wasn't permitted. My class teacher ignored the Union's decision though, and continue to teach. I suppose whichever path you take, there will always be people at a disadvantage... Teacher's without rights or Children without teachers.
