During my lunch break, I went to visit my last placement school for some therapy, as it was only a short cycle ride away. The feeling of going back was almost emotional, it was good to be back, even though it was just for 20 minutes. A complete bombardment of questions assailed me "Where did you go Miss F.?" "Why have you gone to another school Miss F.?" "I wanted to make you a card, but you got here before I could." and totally unrelated, "Have you had your birthday yet Miss F.?" which led on to "When's your birthday?" and "Can you come on the 13th because it's A's birthday." It was a great feeling, with breath-stopping hugs added in, and such a great feeling in fact that I have asked to volunteer after I graduate. First day back would be to a coach trip to Adventure Island in Southend!
I had to retire from St John's Ambulance. Studies and JET aren't allowing me to give my full commitment, and before I waste anymore of their money and resources, I bailed out. Volunteering at school in July before leaving for JET will keep me on the ball. I can't waste this opportunity to absorb more techniques, skills and good practice, anything to help me develop further, it'll definitely benefit me in the long run!! Roar! I'm all fired up!!! Therapy indeed ;)

hi Stephy, nice to read yr blog ! it's even, relax, relax and relax ! ;-)
Yulin - You can guess even with the blurred out face, haha! I suppose the checks aren't very teacher-like?!
Even - Welcome to my blog ;) A bit hard to relax at the moment. I'm sleeping 5 hours a night without regrets, but it's very tiring!
hi Stephy, thanks for your invitation to yr blog ! A full and sweet sleep is very good and recharging even though only with 5 hrs coz i feel tired sometimes even if i slept for 8 hours with whole nite dreaming ! anyway, more exercise will help ! cheers, even
Good Morning Stephanie, Hope you are settling in a bit better, responsibility, responsibility, responsibility????? Just think of the pleasure of returning to all those loving children when you have completed this latest session. You must be one hell of a Teacher to recieve such acclamation when you went back to your previous school a few days ago????? Surprise, I have returned to the Cub Scouts to take a Map Reading Course after an absence of over 20 years. Thanks for the letter and prezzies.
Even - I'm a person who needs 9 hours sleep, so sleeping 5 hours a day is a slow death. An extra few hours in a day would be so helpful!
Ron - Too much responsibility, in this placement I have to teach at least 75%, and boy are there some chatter boxes in this class!!
Obviously with the Younger Element there is a problem with concentration and then of course the the 'Rotten Apple' spoils the barrow. Sometimes it is possible to bring the 'Rotten Apple' to the front of the class and deflate his ego? There is also the case of the "Donkey & Carrot". If you are able to distinguish the 'Carrot' that interests the 'Rotten Apple' then you have the whip hand??? GOOD LUCK
Ron - Thanks for your advice. Coincidentally today, we discussed ways of observing children's 'likes', particularly those of challenging children and using their interests as 'carrots' ;)
SNAP!
