Long time no photo. Blue Peter style, this was a Chinese dragon I made earlier to show to the children.
The lesson went exceptionally well. I had done a presentation on the previous day which introduced Chinese New Year. That fact that a particular Special Needs child managed to recall what I presented was a great boost for me, I was doing something right, I was managing to teach in a way that reached diffential groups.
The atmosphere was of intense concentration. The children were so absorbed in making their dragons, I could actually hear the Wong Fei Hung music playing in the background. It was absolutely amazing. I had a child come up to me and say, "Miss F, I can't wait for Chinese New Year next year." Why, I asked. "Because it was really fun today." That was one heck of a feel-good factor. I'm aiming to make the "Big 3" (numeracy, literacy, science) just as satisfying!

sounds fun! ;)
It certainly was! Next lesson, the teachers have decided that children will be making dinosaur collages. I'll be teaching it, so hopefully I can also make this lesson just as fun.
Very nice, the dragon that is. So how was your Chinese New Year's Day/ Valentine's Day?
Thanks Shabby ;) Not eventful. I was volunteering and getting files ready for tutor checks the next day :( How was yours?
