Cool! I never knew Tokyo of Japan, was a Candidate City for the Olympics 2016!
Even though the Olympics uses a substantial amount of funds, many countries would welcome hosting the Olympics as it guarentees publicity. Hosting would likely start off a series of positive chain effects, for example, a boost of the tourist sector which would increase employment opportunities, and would as a result, benefit the economy.
