Sing Along Chinese Song

For these last few days, there've been open-air Cantonese theatrical plays held near where I live, so this evening I went to take a look...

It was certainly an experience, its the first time I have seen a real live Cantonese opera. Gosh, the scenery and the costumes were just vibrant with colour, I regret not being again to take a decent picture of it (I was too far back, and photography wasn't allowed).

There were also many 'dai pai dongs' 大牌檔, small food stalls with loads of different types of food to eat. I tried barbecued squid, skewered octopus and intestines, takoyaki 章魚燒, and fish and seafood soups. There were tons of other stuff to eat, but my stomach couldn't take anymore, e.g. whelks, congee, grilled and cold meats, salt-baked eggs... when I say tons, I mean literally tons!

The above picture is of a temporary temple, built just opposite the theatre. The 6 sticks in front, are massive burning incense sticks.
