"It's surprising how much a child can learn when they have an interest in a subject."
I got thanked today by a parent for being a 'good' teacher... don't get me wrong, that parent's kid is a competent student, but if I'm such a good teacher, why do I still think that in this school of 200-odd kids, I wouldn't mind a few dozen other kids like that student? Not that I'm saying I am one (in fact I wouldn't dare say it in my 1st year of teaching professionally), but having a good teacher is basically 'good' thing, however some parents' don't seem to realise that other factors play a part in their childrens' ability to learn. For example, some of the factors that I consider to be just as important as a good teacher, is the classroom environment, and most influentially the children that create the atmosphere in the classroom; and their interest in the subject. Another factor that perhaps makes a student a competent learner could be because they happen to 'click' with the teacher's current methods of teaching.

Okay, there's a few contexts that I would like to talk about, but it's nearly my bedtime, and this post is starting to sound like an essay, so...
Anyway, went to a MTR depot during the weekend (the MTR is similar to the London Underground), and played badminton with a circle of people that meet up, hang out, getting to know new people. Oh my gosh, they are all regulars (at badminton), they swing rackets like they're swinging car-keys. The next meeting is at a BBQ buffet site...
Anyways, anyways, really need to catch some Zs...zzz...
